King's Day Dinner Celebration in San Francisco 2018

We will celebrate Belgium King’s Day or Feast of the Dynasty in San Francisco at La Trappe Restaurant on Saturday, November 10, 2018. 

 

From 6 to 9 pm, the lower level of the restaurant will be all ours.  This is a three course dinner with two drinks, for $60, all included in the ticket price.

 

Thanks to the passion for Belgian food and beer from owner Michael Azzalini, La Trappe menu brings the classic dishes from our country.  

 

The food selection we made for this King's Day Dinner Celebration is very typical and quite extraordinary for here in San Francisco.  Of course, the Belgian beer selection of La Trappe is second to none in California!

 

We'll start with Cheese, Crackers and Marinated Herring Mingle when we will savour our first beer. Then:

 

Course 1:

Philip's Choice:      Asperges op Vlaamse Wijze - Asperges à la Flamande

Mathilde's Choice:  Filet Americain

Elizabeth' Choice:  Tomate de Crabe - Tomaat Gevuld Met Krab

             (with our San Francisco Area dungeness crab)

 

Course 2:

Leopold's Choice:    Moules-Belgian Frites - with Beer Sauce

Albert's Choice:      Oiseaux Sans Tête - Blind Finches, Carrots and Couscous

Baudouin's Choice:  Pork Belly with Endive Stoemp (or BEL-ly!)

Course 3:

Paola’s Choice:      Orval Crème Brulée

Fabiola's Choice:   Cooked Pear with Sirop de Liège & Red Wine

Elizabeth's Choice: Belgian Chocolate Mousse

Cost

$60 per BCNC member, including tips and tax.  Maximum seating is limited.  Last day to sign up is November 6.
