Canoe Adventure on the Russian River

This Summer Adventure on the Russian River offers a beautiful ten-mile self-guided canoe trip through the heart of the Redwoods, from Forestville to the resort town of Guerneville. You can comfortably do this trip in approximately 3 ½ hours, actual canoeing time. However, we will picnic, swim & chat...so, we'll be out for about 4 or 5 hours. You will see wildlife such as: otters, great blue herons, ospreys, turtles, egrets, and more. Canoeing is a true Russian River tradition. This is a gorgeous excursion, and you do not want to miss out on the fun of doing this as part of our BCNC group!

BCNC has reserved 10 canoes. Each canoe has two seats and nicely accommodates 2 adults per canoe, OR 2 adults with 1 or 2 children (acceptable when the kids are somewhere between ages 5 & 11 years old). Singles wanting to reserve will be paired. There is a possibility of adding more canoes and it will be based on availability…so your early reservation is best as we will assign boats on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Lunch: Bring your own picnic as we are planning to have lunch next to the river along the way.

Cost: $75 per canoe, or $40 per person. Reservations need to be received by August 10. This is a Member-only event.

Safety: Life jackets will be provided and are mandatory to wear while canoeing. All persons must be able to swim well.

Bring also: swim wear, sunscreen, hat and a change of clothes.

Meeting at 9:30 am on Sunday August 18. Location: Burke's Canoe, 8600 River Road, Forestville, CA 95436. Burke's will provide complimentary return shuttle service after the canoe trip.
