After the hike, we can go for dinner in Sunol at a dog friendly bar/restaurant.
Notes:
Toilets and drinking water are located at the trailhead, but not at the top.

Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve, 1895 Geary Road, Sunol, CA
The Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve is a beautiful park located in the East Bay. We will hike to the top of Flag Hill where you will be able to view the park, the Alameda Creek watershed and the Calaveras Reservoir. With all the rain from this winter, we should also see wildflowers and plenty of green hills!
This hike requires a reasonable level of fitness. It is less than 5 miles long, but consists of a 1000 ft elevation gain. On the way down, there are several options to make it a 5 or a 9 mile hike if desired. Sunol Park not only allows dogs, but they can be off leash once outside the more crowded park area. As we will be in a group, all dogs need to be dog- and people-friendly.
Parking:
- Located at 1895 Geary Road, Sunol
- Entrance fee: $5 / vehicle; $2 / dog
To Register:
Email Dirk@bcnc.com; include how many people/dogs will be coming and a phone number. Registrations are to be received by May 17.
